Big Stax 500 (Day 1C): End Of Day 1C Chip Counts
Big Stax 500 (Day 1C): Finish The Night Strong
Level 15 will be paused with 10:00 remaining on the clock and the players will be informed how many hands then remain in the night. Those who make it that far will then bag chips for Day 2 (which begins at 12:00pm tomorrow), and we will post the end of Day 1C counts and Day 2 table assignments/chip counts shortly thereafter.

We watched as Michael Melkersen busts a player, as his 5 6 > 8 8 on the 3 4 7 flop. Melkersen's opponent had flush outs on the all heart board, but would be eliminated and have some choice words for Melkersen (as would another player who questioned Melkersen's pre-flop call aloud). Michael is currently sitting with 430,000.

Ken Boldorossi found himself in a spot all too common in poker, where he had to commit a healthy amount of chips…knowing he was likely behind. Ken had called a players all-in (with another player behind to act), and watched as that remaining player in the hand pushed as well. Boldorossi made it clear he knew his hand wasn't best, but he was getting 3:1 on his money by making the call. The hands were tabled and Ken's JJ > KK & 88 on the A Q 9 J 9 runout.

Many players were wondering what the turnout for this event would be like after the massive field from the Big Stax 300. In the past, this $550 event would attract numbers for Day 1A like 100 and 152. It was clear that today was going to be different when we had 160 entries at 2:00pm. We saw many faces who've already stamped deep runs in this series (Rocco Luciano, Nancy Martin, Ray Ross, Joe Gola, Joe McKeehen), and some of those for the first time (David Kim, Andrew Spears, DJ MacKinnon). It was David Kim's early run toward the top which headlined early Day 1A play, but story at the end of the day will be all of the solid names bagging really healthy stacks going into Day 2 (Sunday).
End of Day 1A chip counts will be posted shortly after verification of counts by the tournament directors.
