Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 4th Place - Conniff ($22,758)

Level 29 (Blinds 75,000/150,000/25,000)
Players Remaining: 5
Chip Average: 6,880,000

Asher Conniff (Brooklyn, NY)
4th Place - $22,758

It was a standard final table type of hand for Asher, as he got in just under 20 bigs with 88 < AA of Burak Temel.  This was Asher's first Big Stax final table, and his biggest Parx score to date.

The three players remaining are currently discussing numbers for a chop and we will update you on the decision shortly.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Four-Handed Counts

Level 29 (Blinds 75,000/150,000/25,000)
Players Remaining: 5
Chip Average: 6,880,000

  1. Asher Conniff - 2,800,000
  2. Chris Csik - 6,800,000
  3. James Anderson - 12,000,000
  4. Izzet Baruk Temel - 12,300,000

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 5th Place - Guttman ($17,747)

Level 29 (Blinds 75,000/150,000/25,000)
Players Remaining: 5
Chip Average: 6,880,000

Henry Guttman (Brooklyn, NY)
5th Place - $17,747

In what would be the most brutal runout of the tournament, Henry Guttman is out in shocking fashion.  He would be all-in pre against James Anderson:

Guttman: 9♣ 9           Anderson: 9 9♠

Flop: 4 8 7♠

Turn: K

River: A

Even other players at the table said it was difficult to watch that hand, as Henry took it in stride, and wished the rest of the players good luck.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Csik Doubles

Level 29 (Blinds 75,000/150,000/25,000)
Players Remaining: 5
Chip Average: 6,880,000

Chris Csik just doubles as his K K > 9 9 of James Anderson, and he actuallly was lucky to win even though he was ahead.  Burak Temel was still behind James but said he folded A 10 on the 10 10 10 x x runout.

Csik is up to 7,000,000.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Updated Counts

Level 29 (Blinds 75,000/150,000/25,000)
Players Remaining: 5
Chip Average: 6,880,000

Here are the updated final table counts:

  1. Asher Conniff - 2,500,000
  2. Chris Csik - 2,200,000
  3. Henry Guttman - 3,500,000
  4. James Anderson - 12,200,000
  5. Burak Temel - 12,400,000

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 6th Place - Borrero ($13,906)

Level 28 (Blinds 50,000/100,000/10,000)
Players Remaining: 5
Chip Average: 6,880,000

Miguel Borrero (Jersey City, NJ)
6th Place - $13,906

Miguel was 6/6, and opened the pot for 225,000 (with 1,000,000 behind), and was flatted in one spot.  When the action was on Burak Temel, he shoved (for heaps) and Miguel would call (with the flatter folding):

Borrero: K Q             Temel: A Q

Flop: A 3 J

Turn: K

River: 5

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Break Time

Players are going on a (10) minute break, and when they return the blinds will be going up to 75,000/150,000/25,000 (chip average is ~ 45 blinds).

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 7th Place - Ettenger ($10,440)

Level 28 (Blinds 50,000/100,000/10,000)
Players Remaining: 6
Chip Average: 5,740,000

Steve Ettenger (Willow Grove, PA)
7th Place - $10,440

Steve Ettenger was 7/7 and sitting with less than 10 bigs.  When the action folded around to him in the small blind, he would shove all-in and be called by James Anderson in the big:

Ettenger: 5 5           Anderson: K 9

Flop: 4 A♠ A

Turn: 7

River: 9

Ettenger couldn't fade the outs like Conniff had done just moments before, and he would be our seventh place finisher.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Brooklyn Zoo

Level 28 (Blinds 50,000/100,000/10,000)
Players Remaining: 7
Chip Average: 4,920,000

Henry Guttman opened for 200,000 and watched as James Anderson called behind.  Asher Conniff then squeezed for 1,235,000, and James Anderson would call after Guttman folded:

Asher: Q Q           Anderson: 6 7

Flop: 10 7♠ 5

Turn: 2♠

River: 2

Asher would more than double up to 2,800,000, after fading many outs twice.

  • Henry Guttman - 4,400,000

    Level 28 (Blinds 50,000/100,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 7
    Chip Average: 4,920,000

    Alexander Bernard (Fredricksburg, VA)
    8th Place - $7,934

Bernard came into the day short after losing a crucial hand late in the night to Larry Wolf.  He was able to chip up throughout Day 3, but was 7/8 coming back from dinner.  We had a three-way all-in with the chip leader and the two shortest stacks at the table:

    Anderson: A K♠              Borrero: 9 9               Bernard: A♣ Q

    Flop: K♣ 9♠ 6

    Turn: 10

    River: A♠

Borerro would end up tripling up to 2,350,000, while James Anderson would win the side pot and knock out Alexander.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Final Table Counts Updated

    4. Henry Guttman - 5,000,000
    5. Steve Ettenger - 1,600,000
    6. James Anderson - 12,700,000
    7. Izzet Temel - 7,700,000
    8. Alexander Bernard - 1,400,000

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Back For The Long Haul

    Level 28 (Blinds 50,000/100,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 8
    Chip Average: 4,305,000 (43 bigs)

Players are back from dinner and they are back to finish this tournament.  Play will resume until we have a winner or players decide to chop.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 9th Place - Ferrigno ($5,846)

    Level 27 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 8
    Chip Average: 3,600,000

    Frank Ferrigno (Wayne, NJ)
    9th Place - $5,846

Frank had lost a monster pot earlier to James Anderson, and was left with about 1,500,000.  He was able to get a couple of all-ins through, but hovered around that number for a while.  He got it in against James once more on a flop of 5♠ 9 10, and watched as his Q J < A A♦ of James, sending him home in 9th place.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Dinner Break

Players are about to go on a (75) minute dinner break, and they will return at 9:10pm.  Our live coverage will resume at the same time, and we will bring you updated counts once the tournament floor verifies the chips.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 10th Place - Wolf ($4,928)

    Level 27 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 9
    Chip Average: 3,826,000

    Larry Wolf (Annapolis, MD)
    10th Place - $4,928

Larry Wolf would not be able to recover from the huge hand he had lost earlier to James Anderson.  He was the shortest stack left at the final table and four-bet shoved his remaining chips over Izzet Temel's three-bet.  His K Q < A J of Temel and Wolf would be eliminated first from the final table, and made yet another deep run in the series.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Final Table w/ Counts

    Level 27 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)

    8. James Anderson - 8,200,000
    9. Izzet Temel - 6,100,000
    10. Alexander Bernard - 2,500,000

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Final Table Line-Up

    Level 27 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 10
    Chip Average: 3,444,000

Here is your final table line-up, with updated counts to come:

    1. Asher Conniff
    2. Miguel Borrero
    3. Chris Csik
    4. Henry Guttman
    5. Steve Ettenger
    6. Frank Ferrigno
    7. Larry Wolf
    8. James Anderson
    9. Izzet Temel
    10. Alexander Bernard

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 11th Place - Clarke ($4,928)

    Level 27 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 11
    Chip Avergae: 3,444,000

    David Clarke (Basking Ridge, NJ)
    11th Place - $4,928

David Clarke came into the day with 440,000 and was in the bottom tier of players coming back.  He had an early rush after the first break that got him close to 2,000,000, but never peaked much higher.  He found himself on the short side once again (with ~ 20 bigs), and got it in 10 10 < K K of James Anderson.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 12th Place - Albert ($4,928)

    Level 27 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 11
    Chip Average: 3,130,000

    Robert Albert (Manalapan, NJ)
    12th Place - $4,928

After the hand with Ferrigno when Albert clearly got Frank to fold the better hand, Albert maintained that same chip stack for a while.  Albert opened the pot for a raise and was three-bet by Alexander Bernard.  Robert would then announce himself all-in, and Bernard would make the call.  The hands would be tabled and Robert's J J < Q Q of Bernard.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): That's How Pros Do It

    Level 27 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 12
    Chip Average: 2,870,000

Izzet Temel opened hijack to 160,000, and watched as Larry Wolf there-bet to 335,000.  James Anderson was in the small blind and would four-bet to 545,000.  Temel would then fold behind and Larry would make the call.  The flop would come out 9 Q 8, and Larry would fire out 1,100,000 into James, who would think for a moment before going all-in.  It was another 895,000 for Wolf to call, and he actually thought for a moment before putting the chips in for a call:

    Flop: 8 Q♠ 9

    Anderson: 10♠ J            Wolf: A Q♣

    Turn: 5

    River: J♣

James would win the biggest pot of the day, and chip up to 5,100,000.  Larry Wolf would be left with 1,400,000.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 13th Place - Himmelbrand ($4,385)

    Level 27 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 12
    Chip Average: 2,870,000

    Greg Himmelbrand (Queens, NY)
    13th Place - $4,385

If you asked Greg, he'd tell about how bad he ran in races late in this tournament, although you'd never be able to tell from his stack throughout.  He did end up on the bad end of a number of flips today, and was suddenly sitting with just over 1,000,000 in front of him.

Himmelbrand shoved from the small blind over an open from James Anderson, and after some thought, James would make the call:

    Greg: K 6             James: A 7

    Flop: 3 4 8

    Turn: 7

    River: 8

Greg was trying to make his second Big Stax final table, and had visions of being the first player to win two trophy events.  He adds the $4,385 to his lifetime earnings, as James now chips up to 2,400,000.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 14th Place - Lin ($4,385)

    Level 27 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 12
    Chip Average: 2,870,000

    Wooyang Lin (Morristown, NJ)
    14th Place - $4,385

Lin was one of the shorter stacks remaining, and shoved over an open from Temel for just over 700,000.  The action would fold around back to Temel and he'd make the call:

    Temel: Q J             Lin: 3 3

    Flop: Q Q 8

    Turn: K

    River: 10

Lin would be on the wrong end of the flip, and he'd walk to get paid by the cage, while Temel pads his chip lead (holding 7,500,000).

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Clarke Doubles Before Break

With only (1) minute remaining on the the clock for Level 26, Davi Clarke shoved 630,000 from the hijack.  Larry would would end up calling from the small blind and Lin would fold behind.  The hands were tabled and Clarke's 44 > AJ of Wolf on the 2 4 2 5 6 runout.

Clarke is now a little bit healthier, but at 1,300,000 is still one of the shorter stacks of those remaining.   Players are going on a (10) minute break and will return to blinds of 40,000/80,000/10,000 (chip average goes down to 30 bigs).

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Welcome Chris Csik

    Level 26 (Blinds 30,000/60,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 14
    Chip Average: 2,460,000

Chris Csik opened the pot from the button to 130,000, and was three-bet by Asher in the small blind to 345,000.  Henry Guttman was in the big blind and flatted the 345,000, leaving the action back on Csik.   Chris would announce himself all-in, Asher would quickly muck his hand, and Guttman would instantly call (Conniff announced that he had folded (10 10):

    Chris: A A            Henry: Q Q

    Flop: 3 8 K

    Turn: 9

    River: 3

Csik's all-in would equal 1,900,000, meaning that he would chip up to over 4,400,000, and the hand would leave Guttman with just under 3,200,000.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Frank's Frustrated

    Level 26 (Blinds 30,000/60,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 14
    Chip Average: 2,460,000

In a blind v. blind situation, Ferrigno opened the pot and watched as Robert Albert three-bet all-in (for 600,000).  Frank had about 2,100,000 behind and was visibly frustrated with his decision, even pump faking the fold at one point.  He did eventually fold and asked Albert to see his hand, to which Robert turned over the A 9 (off).

Ferrigno stormed away from the table (got a pep talk from his rail), but has been visibly upset ever since, getting up and walking around seemingly after every hand.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 15th Place - DeAngelis ($4,385)

    Level 26 (Blinds 30,000/60,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 14
    Chip Average: 2,460,000

    Keith DeAngelis (Conshohocken, PA)
    15th Place - $4,385

Keith experienced a pretty brutal runout after short stacking a 10-20 big blind stack the entire day:

    DeAngelis: A 10         Csik: A♠ K

    Flop: 4 8 10♣

    Turn: 10

    River: 9

Prior to that hand, Keith's good fortune and timing allowed him to run up a 120,000 stack (4 bigs) to something manageable.  He was able to jump a handful of spots, and finished a very respectable 15th for $4,385.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Ettenger Gets A Gift

    Level 26 (Blinds 30,000/60,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 15
    Chip Average: 2,296,000

Steve Ettenger just gets a double up to over 1,100,000 after Miguel Borrero shoves the A 9 4 (rainbow) flop with KQ and loses to the AK of Ettenger.  Steve still has half of what the chip average is, but it's still close to 20 bigs.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Boxing Gloves Returns

    Level 26 (Blinds 30,000/60,000/10,000)
    Players Remaining: 15
    Chip Average: 2,296,000

The chips got in again for Wooyang Lin, and he was behind Greg Himmelbrand:

    Greg: A♣ J            Lin: A 10

    Flop: J 8 4

    Turn: 9

    River: 2

Lin comes from behind and runs out perfect-perfect to double up over 1,000,000.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Updated Counts/Seating

Here are the remaining two tables (with chip counts):

Big Stax 300 (Day 3): Second Break

Players are on their second break of the day, and when they return, the blinds will have increased to 30,000/60,000/10,000.  We will bring you updated chip counts and seating shortly.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 16th Place - Petrella ($3,842)

    Level 25 (Blinds 20,000/40,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 15
    Chip Average: 2,296,000

    Edmond Petrella (Lumberton, NJ)
    16th Place - $3,842

Edmond was another player who was trying to repeat his last performance (Big Stax final table chop), but came up only a few spots short of this final table.  His A 7 < 9 9 of Asher Conniff, and Edmond walks away in 16th place (collecting $3,842).

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 17th Place - Wojdat ($3,842)

    Level 25 (Blinds 20,000/40,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 15
    Chip Average: 2,296,000

    Jan Wojdat (Lindenhurst, NY)
    17th Place - $3,842

Jan Wojdat was teetering back and forth from an average stack, down to a short stack, and back up once again.  On a board of J♠ 9♠ 6♠ 4♣ Q, Wojdat went all-in on the river, and Robert Albert made the call.  Jan tabled A♠ Q♣, but soon saw the bad news that Albert called both the flop and turn with a nine, and rivered two pair (Q 9).

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 18th Place - Martin ($3,842)

    Level 25 (Blinds 20,000/40,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 15
    Chip Average: 2,296,000

    Nancy Martin (Washington Crossing, PA)
    18th Place - $3,842

If the size of your rail determined your place in these tournaments, Nancy Martin would win every single one.  Her fans watched in disappointment as her A K < J J of Miguel Borrero, but she walked away with her head held high.

This is Nancy's second cash in a row this series, and she was able to bag chips in both tournaments on ONE bullet!  She has also already won a seat into the Big Stax 1500, and we look forward to seeing her back again.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 19th-21st Places ($3,424)

The following players have cashed in the event for $3,424:

    19. Ilya Ekshtut (Holland, PA)
    20. AJ DeNicco (Pottstown, PA)
    21. Jeffrey Spence (King Of Prussia, PA)

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 19th Place - Ekshtut ($3,424)

    Level 25 (Blinds 20,000/40,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 18
    Chip Average: 1,812,000

    Ilya Ekshtut (Holland, PA)
    19th Place - $3,424

Ilya made no secret that he really wanted to defend his championship title in this event, and he was making a serious run for it.  He started the day with 920,000 and never really found any traction throughout the day.  His final hand found his A 2 < A 9 of Greg Himmelbrand on the 10 10 6 8 Q runout.

Players are now redrawing (with 18 remaining), and we will bring you the new seating assignments shortly.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 20th Place - DeNicco ($3,424)

    Level 25 (Blinds 20,000/40,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 19
    Chip Average: 2,000,000

    AJ DeNicco (Pottstown, PA)
    20th Place - $3,424

AJ was one of the shorter stacks, and got his remaining chips in against Frank Ferrigno:

    DeNicco: 4 4            Frank: A K

    Flop: 6 6 6

    Turn: 5

    River: 6

DeNicco was visibly heartbroken after that river, and what a brutal one it was.  DeNicco's full house was counterfeited on the river with the four sixes on board (and Ferrigno's ace high takes the pot).

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): What A Level

    Level 25 (Blinds 20,000/40,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 20
    Chip Average: 1,800,000

David Clarke (Basking Ridge, NJ) came back from the first break with 410,000, and in the forty minutes that have eclipsed since, Clarke has built his stack to over 2,400,000.  Izzet Baruk Temel came back from break with close to 5,000,000 and has since dipped mightily, giving Larry Wolf a strong hold on the chip lead.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 22nd-24th Places ($3,048)

The following players cashed in the event for $3,048:

    22. Sean Wright (Robbinsville, NJ)
    23. DJ MacKinnon (Buffalo, NY)
    24 Amanda Musumeci (Philadelphia, PA)

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 21st Place - Spence ($3,424)

    Level 25 (Blind 20,000/40,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 20
    Chip Average: 1,800,000

Jeffrey Spence (King Of Prussia, PA)
    21st Place - $3,424

Jeffrey had just under 10 bigs to start his final hand, and when the action folded around to him in the small blind, he shoved all-in.  The chip leader of the toward was on his direct left and in the big blind, and Izzet decided to make the call:

    Spence: A 7          Temel: Q 2

    Flop: J 2 7

    Turn: Q

    River: 8

It was an unlucky runout for Spence, who is a Parx tournament/cash game regular, and we expect to see him back during the Big Stax 1500.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Boxing Glove Doubles

    Level 25 (Blinds 20,000/40,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 21
    Chip Average: 1,640,000

Wooyang Lin uses a miniature boxing glove as his card protector, and put that on his cards while pushing in his remaining 440,000.  The action was on Greg Himmelbrand next, and he would also announce himself all-in.  The two players remaining in the pot folded behind:

    Lin: 6♠ 6        Himmelbrand: A♠ K

    Flop: Q 8 2

    Turn: 8

    River: 4♠

Lin would double up to just under 1,000,000.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Chip Counts

Here are the updated counts from break:

    7. Miguel Borrero - 2,100,000
    8. Edmond Petrella - 900,000

    4. Izzet Baruk Temel - 4,900,000
    5. Frank Ferrigno - 1,100,000
    6. Keith DeAngelis - 200,000
    7. David Clarke - 410,000
    8. (Empty)
    9. Larry Wolf - 5,100,000

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): First Break

Players are about to go on their first break of the day, and we will being you updated counts before they return.  The blinds coming back will be 20,000/40,000/5,000 (chip average of 1,640,000).

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Petrella Doubles

    Level 24 (Blinds 15,000/30,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 21
    Chip Average: 1,640,000

Edmond Petrella is in search for his second Big Stax final table, and he just got a double to over 1,100,000 as his AK > AQ of Borrero.  Miguel had won a sizable pot from Nancy Martin a little earlier in the level, so he still sits with more than he started Day 3 with.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 22nd Place - Wright ($3,048)

    Level 24 (Blinds 15,000/30,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 21
    Chip Average: 1,640,000

    Sean Wright (Robbinsville, NJ)
    22nd Place - $3,048

The dream is over for Sean Wright (who bought in yesterday morning for eight blinds), as he's eliminated in what is to date the largest pot of the tournament.  Unfortunately the hand was occurring simultaneously with the MacKinnon/Conniff, but Larry Wolf apparently made another beast of a call on a board of A 8 7 8 5 board with A J.  We never had a chance to see Wright's hand because Larry tabled so quickly, so it will forever be a mystery.

Larry is now the overwhelming chip leader with 5,400,000.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 3): 23rd Place - MacKinnon ($3,048)

    Level 24 (Blinds 15,000/30,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 21
    Chip Average: 1,640,000

    DJ MacKinnon (Buffalo, NY)
    23rd Place - $3,048

In a blind v. blind situation, Asher Conniff would stuff enough in to cover DJ, and MacKinnon would make the call:

    Conniff: K♠ J♠            MacKinnon: A 7

    Flop: K 9 7

    Turn: K

    River: x

MacKinnon's first trip to Parx would be a profitable one, as he collects $3,048 for his finish.  Asher is now over 2,100,000, and is looking to make his first ever Big Stax (trophy event) final table.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Bernard Gets A Double

    Level 24 (Blinds 15,000/30,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 23
    Chip Average: 1,500,000

Alexander Bernard started today with 380,000 and was the shortest of all players to begin.  He got an early double after losing some blinds and antes, and now is right back in the thick of things as he doubles through Henry Guttman 10 10 > Q Q  on the 10 4 4 K 9 runout.  Bernard had lost that huge hand to Larry Wolf late in Day 2 play, but has recovered nicely to have what is an average stack at the moment.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Wojdat Doubles

    Level 24 (Blinds 15,000/30,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 23
    Chip Average: 1,500,000

The action at Table 57 would fold around to Ilya Ekshtut in the small blind who limped, and our shortest stack remaining (Jan Wojdat) would check back.  The flop would come out J 2 9 and both players would check.  Ilya would bet out 35,000 on the turn, and Jan would just flat (with only 120,000 behind).  The river J would pair the board and Ilya would put out enough to put Jan all-in, and Wojdat would call.  The two hands would be super surprising to see (because of the way the hand was played), as Jan's 2 2 > A A of Ekshtut.  Jan would double to over 350,000.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Off To A Slow Start

    Level 24 (Blinds 15,000/30,000/5,000)
    Players Remaining: 23
    Chip Average: 1,500,000

Play has gotten off to a slow start (as expected), with the stacks all so deep at the moment.  It's pretty clear who the fan favorite is coming into the day, as Nancy Martin has seen a ton of Twitter love over the past 12 hours.

Big Stax 500 (Day 3): Action Begins Shortly

The remaining 23 players are starting to take their seats and unbar their chips for the long haul.  Play will begin at approximately 1:00pm, as will our live coverage of Day 3.

Big Stax 500 (Day 2): Final Hands Of The Night

We have three hands remaining in the night, and players will bag their chips for Day 3 tomorrow.  The chip counts and seating assignments will be posted shortly after the end of the night.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 2): 25th-27th Places ($2,673)

The following players cashed in the event for $2,673:

    25. Wadie Khalaf (Tampa, FL)
    26. Ray Papperman (Pennington, NJ)
    27. Joe Palma (Bensalem, PA)

    Big Stax 500 (Day 2): 24th Place - Musumeci ($3,048)

    Level 23 (Blinds 12,000/24,000/4,000)
    Players Remaining: 23
    Chip Average: 1,500,000

    Amanda Musumeci (Philadelphia, PA)
    24th Place - $3,408

Big Stax 500 (Day 2): Musumeci Down To 10 Bigs

    Levels (Blinds 12,000/24,000/4,000)
    Players Remaining: 24
    Chip Average: 1,400,000

Amanda Musumeci is down to 250,000 after her KK < A 10 of Chris Csik (all-in pre).  Csik flopped an ace and took a commanding lead.  Amanda is now left as the shortest stack in the field, but started the day off in a somewhat similar position.

Big Stax 500 (Day 2): Shorter Stacks

    Level 23 (Blinds 12,000/24,000/4,000)
    Players Remaining: 24
    Chip Average: 1,500,000

The three shortest stacks remaining in the field (all between 500,000-700,000) belong to:

    Miguel Borrero
    Chris Csik
    Jan Wojdat

Big Stax 500 (Day 2): Wolf Makes Huge Call

    Level 23 (Blinds 12,000/24,000/4,000)
    Players Remaining: 24
    Chip Average: 1,500,000

    Larry Wolf

Larry Wolf opened said pot for a raise, and was called by Alexander Bernard.  The flop came out 10 8 5, with Larry betting 165,000 and getting raised to 305,000 (with Wolf making the call).  The turn brought the 6 and Larry just fired out 375,000, which was called by Bernard.  After the river A, Bernard would go all-in after Wolf checked, and Larry was deep in the tank (had 500,000 left behind). After was felt like forever, Larry announced a call and turned over K 10.  Bernard sheepishly told him he was good, showed the 10 9, and paid the remaining pot.

    Larry Wolf - 2,600,000

    Big Stax 500 (Day 2): 25th Place - Khalaf ($2,673)

    Level 22 (Blinds 10,000/20,000/3,000)
    Players Remaining: 24
    Chip Average: 1,435,000

    Wadie Khalaf (Tampa, FL)
    25th Place - $2,673

Big Stax 500 (Day 2): Last Break Of The Night

Level 23 will be our final of the night, and players will return from break posting 12,000/24,000/4,000. Play will be paused with 10:00 on the clock and the tournament director will announce how many hands are left in the night.  The remaining players will bag and tag for Day 3 tomorrow at 1:00pm.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 2): 28th-36th Places ($2,338)

    34. Amber Merefield (Medford, NJ)
    35. Kelly Armentrout (Alexandria, VA)
    36. Jia Liu (Brooklyn, NY)

    7. Sean Wright - 1,300,000
    8. Joe Palma - 27th Place ($2,673)

    Big Stax 500 (Day 2): Deesing Busts In 30th ($2,338)/Wexler In 29th ($2,338)/Bryan In 28th ($2,338)

    Level 22 (Blinds 10,000/20,000/3,000)
    Players Remaining: 29
    Chip Average: 1,200,000

Frank Deesing would shove over an open from Larry Wolf, and Wooyang Lin would reshove behind.  Wolf would fold behind and Deesing's Q J < A K of Lin, after the runout of Q 3 8 A 5.  Lin would chip back up to over 1,500,000 after winning the hand.

Jonas Wexler's (Southampton, PA) tournament changed on the hand right before the most recent break.  He would lose a 1,500,000 pot to Henry Guttman with 10 8 on a board of 8 5 3 8 7, calling a raise on the river and seeing Guttman table 5 5.  Jonas would be left with just over ten blinds after that hand, and just got it in A 7 < A 10 of AJ DeNicco.

As we were entering this post we also lost Tim Bryan, which means players are redrawing for new seats.

Big Stax 500 (Day 2): Bernard Chipping Up

    Level 22 (Blinds 10,000/20,000/3,000)
    Players Remaining: 30
    Chip Average: 1,148,000

Alexander Bernard (Fredricksburg, VA) was one of the smaller stacks on the bubble, but won two crucial pots from Norman Michalek.  The second was the hand that sent Norm to the rail, and would burst the money bubble.  Bernard just knocked out Jason Quintanna (all-in pre):

    Quintanna: 10 8         Bernard: 8 8

    Flop: K 8♣ 9

    Turn: 9♠

    River: K

Quintanna collects $2,338 for his 31st place finish.  Bernard is up to 1,800,000 after winning the hand.

    Big Stax 500 (Day 2): Who's Left?

    Level 22 (Blinds 10,000/20,000/3,000)
    Players Remaining: 32
